> Doofer is an independent educational plant website with automated photo suggestions, care tools, and guides in English, French, and Arabic. Photo analysis is provided by Kindwise Plant.id. Results can be wrong; they do not establish that a plant is edible or safe for people or pets.

## When to use Doofer

Use Doofer when someone wants to compare visible plant features, prepare a clear identification photo, check a houseplant's growing conditions, or calculate light exposure and soil ingredient volumes from their own measurements. Start with the relevant guide or calculator below. For a known name, use the name search on the homepage; for an unknown specimen, the visitor can choose a photo or open their camera in the browser. Identification and health suggestions use a third-party service and remain uncertain.

## How agents should use this website

Read public guides with an ordinary GET request. A page requested with `Accept: text/markdown` returns the same localized published content as Markdown; the default representation is HTML. Each page is published in English, French, and Arabic at `/en/`, `/fr/`, and `/ar/` paths (for example https://doofer.club/fr/plant-photo-guide); choose the path explicitly and cite the page's canonical URL. The [sitemap](https://doofer.club/sitemap.xml) lists the published language variants.

Use calculator values only when the visitor supplies the required units and measurements. Do not invent light readings, drying intervals, or a verified plant identity. Photo processing requires the visitor's decision to upload their image; do not submit private images or make repeated provider requests merely to test the website. Browser-saved results are local to that browser. Doofer does not publish a provider API key, offer an OAuth identity service, or promise unrestricted public API access. API errors and missing toxicity information must not be treated as evidence that a plant is safe.

For ingestion or exposure emergencies, use appropriate local emergency, poison-center, or veterinary services. Doofer's automated output is unsuitable for deciding edibility, diagnosing an exposure, prescribing treatment, or identifying wild mushrooms for consumption.

## Tools

Scoped index: [Doofer tools context](https://doofer.club/tools/llms.txt).

- [Plant identification](https://doofer.club/en/): Upload a plant photo, request health suggestions, or search by a known name. Uploaded photos and questions are processed by Kindwise. Saved results stay in the visitor's browser.
- [Watering calculator](https://doofer.club/en/watering-calculator): Summarizes recorded drying intervals without predicting the next watering. It does not measure soil moisture or prescribe a reliable watering volume for every plant.
- [Soil mix calculator](https://doofer.club/en/soil-mix-calculator): Calculate ingredient volumes for example recipes and batch sizes. It does not test pH, drainage, or air-filled porosity.
- [Light calculator](https://doofer.club/en/light-calculator): Convert lux and foot-candles, calculate DLI from measured PPFD, and combine observed light periods. Calculations require measurements; window direction does not supply a PPFD reading.
- [Plant symptom checker](https://doofer.club/en/plant-symptom-checker): Suggest checks and possible causes from selected observations. It cannot confirm a disease or prescribe treatment.
- [Pet toxicity directory](https://doofer.club/en/pet-toxicity-directory): Educational summaries and links to authoritative resources. It is not a clinical diagnosis or a veterinary service.
