Privacy Policy

Your photos, saved results, and privacy choices.

Updated September 23, 2026. This page explains the information processed when you use Doofer, which services receive it, and how to contact us.

Who to contact

Doofer is operated under the name Doofer. For privacy questions or requests about information processed through this website, email contact@doofer.club.

Plant photos, searches, and questions

No account is required. When you request identification or a health check, your image passes through our application server to Kindwise Plant.id. Name searches, plant detail requests, follow-up questions, and feedback are also sent to Kindwise when you use those features.

The application does not maintain its own database of uploaded photos. Kindwise processes and may retain images, results, and conversation data under its own policy. We cannot promise immediate deletion from a third-party service. Avoid uploading faces, documents, identifying details, or other sensitive information that is not needed to identify a plant.

The normal photo interface does not request GPS location. The API supports additional information supplied by a caller, so do not submit coordinates or other personal details unless you intend to have them processed.

What stays in your browser

Language preferences, cookie choices, and results you choose to save use browser storage. An unsuccessful photo request may leave a pending photo in browser storage for a retry. Anyone with access to the same browser profile may be able to see saved information.

Use Clear saved to remove the saved-results list. Clearing this site’s browser data also removes preferences and any pending photo. Browser storage is separate from the information already sent to Kindwise.

Optional Google services

Before optional services are enabled, you can choose Accept All or Essential Only. Plant tools and guides work with Essential Only. Use Cookie Preferences in the footer to change your choice. Withdrawing permission reloads the page so previously loaded optional scripts stop running. Your browser’s Global Privacy Control signal keeps these optional services off.

  • Google Analytics: when enabled, receives information about page visits and browser/device activity to help understand use of the site.
  • Google AdSense: when enabled, may serve non-personalized ads. Non-personalized advertising can still use cookies or similar identifiers for functions such as frequency capping and fraud prevention.
  • Interface translations: local language files provide the site interface translations without sending page content to a translation provider.

Google and other third-party advertising vendors may use cookies to serve ads based on prior visits to this or other websites. Google’s advertising cookies enable Google and its partners to serve ads based on those visits. Doofer currently requests non-personalized ads and does not enable personalization through its own preference banner.

Google is the advertising vendor integrated on Doofer. Depending on our AdSense account settings, other authorized buyers or Google-certified ad networks may also serve ads and use cookies. Google explains how authorized buyers participate in AdSense and publishes a directory of ad technology partners and their websites. That directory includes vendors beyond those that may serve ads on Doofer.

Learn how Google uses data from partner sites and read Google’s privacy policy. You can opt out of personalized Google advertising in Google Ads Settings. To opt out of personalized advertising from some other participating vendors, visit WebChoices; you can also visit a vendor’s own website for its privacy controls.

Choosing Essential Only prevents new optional Google scripts from loading on this site; it does not remove cookies previously stored by other websites. You can manage existing cookies using your browser settings. Where an advertising provider presents an additional regional consent message, its choices also apply.

Hosting and external resources

Our hosting infrastructure may process IP addresses, request times, requested URLs, and browser headers to deliver and secure the site. Retention depends on the hosting service’s configuration. Contact us for information about a particular request rather than relying on a fixed retention promise.

Fonts, icons, and interface libraries are served from Doofer’s own website. Following an external reference or loading an image from an identification result connects your browser to that external provider.

Service providers may process information in countries other than your own. Their policies explain their processing practices and applicable transfer arrangements.

Email and privacy requests

The contact form prepares a message in your email app. Sending it shares the name, address, and message you include with the site’s contact mailbox and email providers. The website itself does not submit that email.

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of personal information, object to certain uses, or complain to a data protection authority. Contact us with enough detail to locate the information involved. Please do not send passwords, API keys, or sensitive identity documents in an initial request.

We do not sell uploaded photos for money. If you wish to opt out of optional advertising-related sharing, choose Essential Only or enable Global Privacy Control. We do not knowingly seek personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal information, contact us so we can assess the request and involve the relevant service provider where necessary.
